On May 19, 2026, Jiangxi Institute of Fashion Technology held a forum for teachers scheduled to take part in the summer overseas study tour in Europe. Ms. Tu Yanping, Chairperson of the university, Mr. Shang Gang, Executive President, Assistant to the President Mr. Yi Cheng, relevant administrative staff and more than 20 participating teachers attended the meeting.
As the university marks its 35th anniversary this year, the organized European study tour stands as a milestone move in implementing the international development strategy of JIFT’s 15th Five-Year Plan period. Four supportive policies for faculty development were released, including an annual special fund of no less than one million yuan for overseas training, dual career development paths, a youth faculty development program and an academic leave system.
The customized training covers design innovation, AI fashion application, brand marketing, pattern making and other core fields. Teachers will visit prestigious universities and iconic fashion landmarks in Italy and France. A five-point work requirement was put forward, urging participants to bring back curriculum resources, establish international cooperation links, absorb advanced educational concepts, complete research reports and build excellent teaching teams. Meanwhile, teachers are required to devote themselves to study, abide by relevant disciplines and apply what they have learned into practical work.
Executive President Shang Gang stressed adequate pre-departure preparation, cross-cultural communication ability improvement and compliance with foreign affairs regulations. Teachers are expected to deliver achievement reports after the return. According to Mr. Yi Cheng, 20 outstanding teachers will depart for Italy and France on July 4 for a two-week professional training program.
All teachers expressed that they would cherish this valuable opportunity, absorb cutting-edge European fashion education experience, and translate overseas insights into practical improvements in teaching, research and talent cultivation. JIFT will further advance international education development and strive to build a world-class fashion university.
