On the afternoon of September 22, 2025, a delegation from Coventry University, the United Kingdom visited JIFT.The delegation was led by Professor Craig Blyth, Associate Vice-President of Coventry University, Mr. Guy Dru Drury, Managing Director of China Region at Coventry University, and Professor Zeng Xianfei, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Coventry University. Li Baojun, Vice-President of JIFT, met with the foreign guests. Professor Chen Yan from the School of Humanities and Ms. Yue Fang, Chief of the General Affairs Section of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Mr. Li Baojun, Vice-President of JIFT, extended a warm welcome to Associate Vice-President Craig Blyth and his delegation.The two sides respectively introduced the development history, educational characteristics, achievements and outcomes in international cooperation.Vice-President Li Baojun expressed that despite the short visit, he hoped JIFT would leave a deep impression on the delegation and enhance their understanding of the university. He also looked forward to more exchanges and cooperation with Coventry University.
Associate Vice-President Craig Blyth introduced the history, scale, international development and cooperation with Chinese institutions of Coventry University.University traces its history back to the Coventry School of Design, founded in 1843.Over more than a century, through mergers and development, the university has made remarkable progress.
Coventry University has four campuses and offers a wide range of disciplines.Among them, its art and design programmes have a long-standing tradition and strong influence in the industry.The university boasts a high level of internationalization and has established educational partnerships with universities in many countries and regions around the world,including the Coventry College of Communication University of China in Hainan.
Mr. Guy Dru Drury, Managing Director of China Region at Coventry University, gave a detailed introduction to the cooperation between Coventry University and Chinese universities in various fields.Both sides expressed their hope to further deepen mutual understanding, enhance friendship, integrate resources, and jointly promote high-quality development in educational cooperation, artistic exchanges and other areas.
Subsequently, the delegation visited the Chinese Clothing Museum of JIFT and appreciated the oriental aesthetics embodied in Chinese traditional costumes.They were deeply impressed by the museum’s collection of more than 10,000 items, including garments, accessories, textiles and embroideries from different dynasties in China.
